SÚHRN
Matka a jej intrauterinne dieťa tvoria biologický celok.

SUMMARY
Mother and her intrauterine baby form biological entirety. Although, it may seem this close bond is stopped by the delivery, the task of the maternity hospital staff is to provide the mother and the baby continuous close contact. If the newbotn has no complications we should seek the ways how to return the baby to his/her mother or father.
For the optimum course of postnatal adaptation early skinto skin contact is often sufficient with mainaining baby´s thermoneutral environment. Early putting the baby at the breast has a great significance not only for early lactation but also for the emotional bond between the mother and her baby.
Further followup of the baby is usually done by the happy father. In the presence of both loving parents whom he/she has come to know in the intrauterine life, the baby adapts more quickly to the external environment after stressful arrival into the world. The mother and the baby are carefully monitored in the delivery room and further monitoring especially fortification
of their mutual bond is supported in placing them in 24hour rooming in. Delivery is a unique experience for parents but stressful for baby. Our procedures try to accept physiological processes in the body of the mother and her child with consistent support of immediate contact of newborn and his/her parents in order to put the baby in the loving arms.
